OMAHA, Neb. -- Freshman left-hander Will Coursen-Carr will start against Mississippi State at 8 p.m. tonight in IU's second College World Series game.

The selection was first reported by Dustin Dopirak of the Bloomington Herald-Times.

Coursen-Carr is 3-0 with a 2.49 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched this postseason, having closed out all three of IU's postseason series wins.

Coming out the bullpen against Florida State on June 9, Coursen-Carr limited the Seminoles to one run on two hits in four innings of work to get win and help send the Hoosiers to the College World Series.

On June 2 against Austin Peay, Coursen-Carr (5-0) gave up just one run on five hits in 5.1 innings as IU captured the Bloomington Regional with a 6-1 win. He also helped clinched the Hoosiers' Big Ten Tournament title, tossing a complete-game while allowing three runs on eight hits in IU's 4-3 win over Nebraska May 26
