Following his participation in the Indiana Relays this weekend, senior Derek Drouin was named the Big Ten's Field Athlete of the Week. It is the second time this season he has earned this title. IU now has seven Athlete of the Week honors in four meets this year.

Drouin competed in the long jump for the first time all season on Friday and came out victorious. His winning height of 2.29 meters tied him for the NCAA lead so far this season.

The next day brought the long jump invitational round which Drouin also won. In fact, all six of Drouin's jumps were better than the second place finishers best jump. Drouin also competed in the 60m hurdles finals on Saturday, finishing seventh overall.

Drouin was all over the place at this meet. He could be seen in the infield or by the IU bench constantly warming down for his last event or warming up for his next.

This is the seventh time in his IU career that Drouin has been named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week.

After four straight home meets, the IU Track and Field teams will compete this coming weekend in their first away meet of the year at Notre Dame, Ind. in the Meyo Invitational.
