Hey folks,
I come to you now not with any news releases or interesting tidbits, sorry to disappoint.
No, tonight I blog to you with a sad-hearted but fond goodbye. We at the IDS work on a shifting beat system to give new writers more opportunities, and I'll be turning the reins over to someone new here in just a week or two.
Just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to all of you for visiting with us these last few months. We know IU baseball doesn't generate the same fan reaction as basketball or football, but it's been a real treat for Ryan and I, knowing we have avid, knowledgeable readers who are always thirsty for more -- it's made our jobs much, much easier.
It's been a fun year reading your comments, getting your e-mails (I'm looking at you, NewHoosierFan) and bringing you the inevitable weekly Josh Phegley-Matt Bashore-won-something-else press releases.
Fear not, the blog and the beat will be turned over into (more) capable hands, and I'll chime in from time to time if I dig up something worth your attention. In the meantime, have a happy, happy holiday, stay warm to all of you here in Indiana tonight, and a most happy new year to everyone.
