IUPD investigates attack in Dunn Woods

From IDS reports

The IU Police Department is investigating a possible case of forcible fondling having reportedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday in Dunn Woods, according to IUPD Lt. Craig Munroe.

Munroe said the female IU student reported having her breast and buttocks grabbed after walking halfway into Dunn Woods, entering from the east.

Two IU Notify Alerts were issued early Friday morning alerting students of two college-aged male subjects, one possibly armed with a knife, the other wearing a red sweatband on his right wrist.

Munroe added that the two men, likely 18 to 24 years old, were wearing dark jackets, are about 5’8’’ and have a stocky build.

It is unknown what direction the two men entered Dunn Woods from.

According to Munroe, the victim called a friend for a ride back to her dorm before reporting the incident to IUPD, who was then able to investigate the scene in Dunn Woods about an hour after the attack reportedly occurred.

Munroe said IUPD currently has no suspects, but will be conducting interviews and reviewing camera footage in the surrounding area of the attack.

Munroe urged students to remain on lit paths when walking at night and said that based on evidence collected he has no reason to believe there is still an ongoing threat.
