Water Polo to compete in NCAA tournament

The Hoosiers earned a No. 8 seed and will play the No. 9 seed Wagner on Saturday at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington.

IU remains perfect in CWPA

The No. 14 IU water polo team went an undefeated 4-0 during the weekend in the first set of CWPA Western Division Round Robin matches held at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y.

This weekend, the Hoosiers (19-12) will partake in the CWPA Eastern Conference Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., with a berth to the NCAA Championships tournament on the line. If IU wins the tournament, it will automatically qualify for the NCAAs. If IU takes home anything less than the first-place trophy, the season will be over.

The 2013 Hoosiers made their own history Saturday and Sunday, winning their first Collegiate Water Polo Association Western Division Championship.

The No. 12 water polo team (16-12) lost a heartbreaker on senior night Saturday, falling to No. 19 Michigan in overtime 8-7 at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.



Hoosiers breeze through CWPA opponents

The Hoosiers defeated division foes Notre Dame (Ohio) 14-8 and Gannon 16-4. IU is now 19-0 combined against the two schools all-time.


Hoosiers to match up with CWPA opponents

On Saturday, IU (14-11) will face division foes Notre Dame (Ohio) and Gannon at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, in the Gannon Tournament, taking place in Erie, Pa.
