With Final Four on the line, IU hosts Western tourney

·

As postseason play begins Friday for the No. 16 IU water polo team, the Hoosiers have their sights set on something they have only done once before -- compete in the Final Four for the NCAA water polo championship. Before that happens, however, the Hoosiers are going to have to finish in first or second place this weekend at the Collegiate Water Polo Associate Western Division Championship at the Counsilman-Billingsly Aquatic Center, in Bloomington. This is the first time the Hoosiers will play host to the CWPA Western Championship.

As a 3-year-old, Katie Thompson was allowed to ride her bike only so far down her block. Her parents set up a barrier a few houses down so she would not escape their sight. Eight houses away from Katie's, Lauren Ziemba frequently pedaled her training-wheel-supported bike to the barrier her parents established.

White Sox complete sweep of Royals

·

CHICAGO -- Javier Vazquez watched the ball roll down the third-base line, his bid for a no-hitter riding on where it ended up. Third baseman Joe Crede had no play, either. He was too far back. As they both looked on helplessly Wednesday, Doug Mientkiewicz's slow roller off a checked swing didn't stray into foul territory. Instead, the ball seemed to have a mind of its own and stayed fair. And after 6 1/3 innings, Vazquez's chance to pitch a no-hitter was over.

Who's your M.V.P.?

·

With the NBA season ending last night, it is time to decide the recipient of the Most Valuable Player award. While I would like to give it to myself (you should see the game I kick at Kilroy's), I have been informed that this is the National Basketball Association MVP, so reluctantly I made another valuable choice.
