Report: Crean agrees to 2-year extension

Johnson gambles with tires, earns second Brickyard win

Jimmie Johnson took the pole and the checkered flag for the second time in the last three years in the 15th running of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Loukas wins 2nd 1-meter springboard title

As the Olympics draw near, Beijing-bound IU senior diver Christina Loukas is on a roll. Thursday, Loukas successfully defended her title in the one-meter springboard at the 2008 Kaiser Parmanente National Diving Championships.

Community comes together for Block Party

More than 700 people came together Friday for the fifth annual Bloomington Block Party. The event took place at the John Waldron Arts Center and featured live music, face painting and various works of art.



Smoke rises from a derby car Friday evening at the Monroe County Demolition Derby. The derby featured cars in mini, midsize and full-size classes, as well as the women’s powder puff, in which this year’s Monroe County Fair Queen, Juli Johnston, participated.
