Rapper Snoop Dogg has been added to the list of concerts for the Little 500 week. The Grammy-nominated artist will perform at the Zeta Beta Tau and Sigma Alpha Mu parking lot on Friday, April 23. The venue will open at 6 p.m.

Connecting IU to Israel: week events hope to educate campus

Israeli innovation has produced technology students use every day — flash drives and instant messaging are Israeli advances, and Motorola’s research and development center in Israel created the world’s first cell phone. Sharing facts such as these with the IU community is one of the reasons student group Hoosiers for Israel is sponsoring IU’s first Israel Awareness Week. The week, which includes activities such as a film screening and peace rally, begins today.

Coming into the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, the Hoosiers boasted a 4-8 record. The team was fresh off two games against both Vanderbilt and Louisville, two of the better teams in the nation, and played them very well despite the final result ending in a loss. A breakout was right around the corner.

Junior Alex Ruff pledged Pi Kappa Alpha spring semester of his freshman year. He took his turn as a pledge by cleaning up, sober driving, attending events and learning all the fraternity’s rituals and traditions. But he never moved into the house — because they don’t have one.

IU Police use 3 sobriety tests to make OWI arrests

Contrary to popular belief, portable on-site breathalyzer tests are not admissible in a court of law. For this reason, IU Police Department officers rely on three field sobriety tests to initiate probable cause to make an arrest and secure a conviction for Operating While Intoxicated.

Escobedo takes 3rd at NCAAs

Angel Escobedo will go down as one of the greatest wrestlers in IU history. The senior wanted nothing more than to establish that with a second national title to cap off his IU career. Unfortunately for Escobedo, that was not in the cards at the NCAA Championships in Omaha, Neb., last weekend.

Former Surgeon General honored by HPER

C. Everett Koop, M.D., has received the 2010 Ryan White Distinguished Leadership Award by the Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention at the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Koop was the chief spokesman for AIDS while serving as U.S. Surgeon General in the 1980s.
