More deaths in West Bank
JENIN, West Bank -- Palestinians ambushed Israeli troops in the cramped quarters of a West Bank refugee camp Tuesday, setting off a suicide bomb trap in a narrow alley and firing on soldiers in a courtyard, the military said. Thirteen Israelis were killed, the biggest blow to the army in its West Bank offensive.
Governor calling back lawmakers
INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Frank O'Bannon said Tuesday he will call lawmakers back to the Statehouse next month for a special session aimed at resolving the state's financial crisis. The Democrat said he hoped lawmakers would work toward resolving their differences over balancing the budget and restructuring taxes. However, if leaders cannot reach a deal in coming weeks, he said he would call the full General Assembly back to work May 14.
Receiving through giving
On the third day of medical clinics in a remote mountain location in Honduras, outside the city of Tegucigalpa, IU junior Aaron Remenschneider mingled with a group of children in the hot sun, as they waited for their medication prescribed by the clinic doctor. An entire school had canceled classes that day to allow the children to go to the clinic, which was set up by the IU chapter of the Timmy Foundation.
Speaker announced
IU alumnus Dick Enberg will deliver this year's commencement address May 4 in Assembly Hall. Enberg earned his master's and doctoral degrees in health sciences from IU. Since his graduation, he has continued to contribute to the University and was named a Willard W. Patty Distinguished Alumnus based on his professional accomplishments and commitment to IU.

IU terminates contract with New Era
In response to allegations of workers' rights abuse, IU has terminated its licensing contract with the New Era Cap Company. The termination came as a result of New Era's repeated refusal to cooperate with the Workers' Rights Consortium, a labor rights watchdog that represents IU and other universities.
IU splits series, snaps streak
The IU softball team snapped its nine-game losing streak Tuesday with a 6-5 victory over Wright State (6-16) in the first game of a doubleheader at the IU Softball Field. But the Raiders returned the favor with 1-0 shutout of the Hoosiers (10-20-1) in the second contest.
