Singles participate in 'Anti-Valentine's Day'

So this year, in an effort to combat the pressure behind this lovey-dovey, draining day, Rachael’s Café held an “Anti-Valentines Day” party. The event featured speed dating and a poetry reading.

Warm weather changes plans for IU Grounds

While the past few days have brought traditional winter weather, the overall winter season in Bloomington has been warmer than usual. The IU Grounds and Maintenance Campus Division usually works through the night to clear snow and salt down icy roads, but the groundskeepers have been mulching and planting flower beds in recent weeks.

More than 40 different ethnic groups are represented in the country of Ghana alone. Although many similarities between ethnicities exist, each are distinct cultural groups. For the second time in just a few months, Brooklyn dream pop group Asobi Seksu will headline at the Bishop, going on after local phenoms Chandelier Ballroom and Stagnant Pools. Live Buzz recently had the chance to speak with lead guitarist James Hanna about what being in a band for 10 years has taught him and the making of Asobi Seksu’s most recent album, 2011’s “Fluorescence.”

Alumnus performs one kind deed every day in 2012

It can be as simple as smiling at passersby or as serious as becoming an organ donor. These acts of kindness are just some of the things on Ryan Garcia’s list. For the next 314 days, Ryan, a 2005 IU graduate, will work towards completing 366 random acts of kindness.

IU ready to start spring golf season

The IU women’s golf team opened its 2011–12 season with a victory at the IU Fall Kickoff but fell short throughout the rest of the fall. The squad’s only other top-five finish of the fall was at the IU Fall Invitational at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.

Ind. falls behind neighbor states in school breakfast

County election supervisor keeps voting on track

Lifeline bill passes in House, awaits governor’s signature

The Indiana Lifeline bill, which would grant immunity to students who call for emergency assistance in cases of alcohol overconsumption, passed unanimously 95-0 in the Indiana House.
