Governor might alter Board of Education

INDIANAPOLIS -- Although state lawmakers failed to approve his plan to move Indiana's ISTEP test from the fall to the spring, Gov. Mitch Daniels could soon reshape a panel that is capable of making the switch itself.

Tree planted in Comiskey's honor

IU Alumna Kate Comiskey loved nature. So planting a tree in her memory seemed appropriate said Sarah Cahillane. Cahillane and her friend Danny Cheshire orchestrated a tree planting ceremony outside the Education Building Wednesday for Comiskey, a teacher at Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Ind. who died in a car crash last November.

Rape reported in woods near Ballantine Hall

A 19-year-old female student was raped March 22, she reported to the IU Police Department Wednesday. According to the IUPD reports, the woman said the rape occurred at approximately 8:35 p.m. in a wooded area between Ballantine Hall and the Chemistry building. She said she was leaving Jordan Hall after a meeting when she heard footsteps and began walking faster, according to the report.

Film features twist on storytelling

Tonight, the ancient tradition of storytelling will combine with the latest technology to create a fusion of new media and technology. Azuka Nzegwu, a Telecommunications graduate student, and Lanlan Kuang, a graduate student in Folklore, will showcase their multimedia presentations about culture and storytelling at 6 p.m. in the Radio and Television Building in Room 245.
