Visiting artist Nysha O Nelson shows sketches of his latest quilting project he calls the bullet mandala series. Nelson has a studio in Bartlett, Tennesee where he works on his quilts. Originally interested in painting, Nelson starting quilting after he visited the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky. He was struck by the uniqueness of the quilts: "I [was] turned on by the way the light falls across the quilt."

"It's like winning an Oscar for a store owner," Roberts said about the achievement.
People look at the different quilts on display for the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show, held at the Bloomington Convention Center. It was a juried show: quilters entered their quilts and only a select few were chosen for display. Vendors sold quilting supplies and quilters did live demonstrations during the event that took place from Friday through Satuday.
