Following a tree dedication ceremony, junior Meredith Seamon takes a picture of Haley with her dad Jeff and stepmom Jill Troha in front of a Dogwood Tree dedicated for Hannah’s memory at the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Next semester Haley plans to rush Gamma Phi Beta, the sorority that Hannah rushed. On the side of the house by the tree, there is a plaque and a bench donated for Hannah. “I’m looking forward to being there a lot. Like when I’m sad, I’ll go outside and sit on her little bench,” Haley said.

I never think about that night, I never talk about that night. We never talk about Hannah in the past tense, only the present. That way, you forget the details that come up about the night. We only talk positive. To me, she’s just on vacation.”
Hannah's diploma, cap and tassel sit on her desk at home. Because Hannah died a couple weeks before graduation, she never got to walk in her ceremony. Haley has plans to wear Hannah’s cap and tassel on her graduation. “That will be something where I finally get to do something she didn’t get to do. Right now since I’m 18, I’m still doing everything that she’s gotten to do, so that will definitely be hard,” Haley said.

Haley and her roommate Maddie Clapp chat about their days at their dorm room in Briscoe. The two have known each other for several years from attending Fishers High School and cheering on the same squad. “She knows my situation, and she was there for everything that’s happened, so she knows how to deal with it I think” Haley said.
Hannah’s, now Haley’s, cat Mac walks around the living room. “Good boy Mac” were the last words Hannah texted her mother, Robin, after her domestic shorthair miraculously came back from the dead. Mac had fallen ill from a strange and sudden illness unknown to Robin, who is a vet.
Before cheering at football game against Rutgers, Haley leans on her dad Jeff Wilson as he shows her pictures of her aunt who was a cheerleader at IU at the cheerleading tailgate outside Memorial Stadium. During the first week of cheer, Haley struggled because her body was no longer used to the movement. Her dad convinced her to stay with it.

Days before Hannah’s funeral several people gathered in her living room to help the family prepare and put the hundreds of photos on the display boards.
Haley laughs with her grandpa Norm Wilson, who she calls Poppy, while watching a home video featuring Haley and Hannah jumping around and yelling, “Daddy, daddy, daddy.” Haley rarely gets to see her grandpa, except on holidays. “He has always been a strong part of me and Hannah’s life,” Haley said.

Jeff and Haley watch a home movie, called “Mandy’s Parking Garage Mystery” at Jeff’s home. The two acted out a scene where they were in a parking garage and stole the president’s car. The big life moments and the holidays like Thanksgiving are when Haley misses Hannah the most. “It’s not about what happened to her,” Haley said. “It’s now my life that like she doesn’t get to be here for.”
