Doreen chats with Addison’s girlfriend, Amy Luxenberger, 26, while Lewis chats with other friends before Busman’s Holiday plays at the Bishop. Bringing Busman’s Holiday’s bag of merchandise to sell, Doreen stopped by to see the boys and their friends.
Addison and Lewis text on their cellphones in the backroom of the crowded Bishop Bar, a Bloomington venue, where they wait to play their set at local music festival called Culture Shock.
Lewis and Addison have a chat at Bloomington Bagel Company. The brothers spend time together outside of their music realm, whether it’s watching movies or eating or hanging with friends.
Addison laughs in the Community Access Television Services (CATS) area in the Monroe Public Library where he has worked for almost two years. Lewis works a few hours at the Plan 9 movie rental store but almost got the CATS job when both he and Addison applied. But Lewis said if it was between the two of them to give it to Addison. The jobs aren’t their main priority anyway, as Addison says, “[The jobs are] just a way to make money for the band, really…The band takes precedent over the jobs.”
Lewis plays around with recording wine glasses to get a unique sound with equipment set up in his basement bedroom for the new album. Lewis is always playing around with recording or looking for sounds.
Lewis starts to set up his computer to record some music for the new album in his bedroom that doubles as a recording studio for Busman’s Holiday. Addison’s room is down the hall and the brothers’ have the whole basement to themselves usually, with a few interruptions and noises from their parents.

Lewis and Addison live in the basement of their parents’ house, coming and going as they please, in order to save money for the band. Their parents insisted on them living at home so all their money can be used to progress Busman’s Holiday.
Playing on his suitcase drum, Addison looks at his younger brother during a jam session in their front yard in Bloomington, Ind. “I look at Lewis quite a bit for a way to follow him with harmony,” says Addison. “I also find myself looking at his guitar.” He doesn’t know why he does it but he noticed in photos that his eyes are usually glued to Lewis.
Local band Busman’s Holiday harmonizes one of their duets outside their Bloomington, Ind. home where they were born and raised. Making up the band are two brothers Lewis, 22, and Addison Rogers, 26 who have been performing together their whole lives. They have a new album tentatively titled “A Long Goodbye” that is planned to be released later this year and have been working extensively on it.
