"IU libraries are excellent at making connections and bringing people together," Brenda Johnson, Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries said Thursday. She added, "This is truly a team award."
"The library is vital to every part of the university's mission," Provost Karen Hanson said Thursday. She added, "We are deeply honored that Association of College and Research Libraries has recognized IU libraries."
"Today as we celebrate, we recognize the vital and changing role our libraries play," President McRobbie said Thursday in the lobby of the Herman B Wells library. He also added that the award "suggests high standards which we strive for as an institution."

"I wasn't really happy to be honest," sophomore Lauren Huyvaert said about iUnity's win. "I voted for Kirkwood. I thought their platform was better and I knew people on the ticket. I thought they had better things going for the university than iUnity. I felt iUnity was just going for votes and won't be able to pass anything."
Referring to iUnity, senior Courtney Beaman said, "Proud of them. I know Mike and I'm very happy for him."
"Actually, I felt great," said senior Lorin Williams about iUnity's success. "I know Mike Coleman; he was a great candidate. I'm looking forward to see what they do for campus in the future."
"I haven't had the chance to read the paper but saw [iUnity] won," senior Whitney Burton said. "I knew people had been campaigning but I didn't really keep up with it."
"Glad they won," senior Senia Boarden said about iUnity's election win. "I know people on it and agree with the platform."
Peeking through a sculpture in the art gallery, the Wandering Turtle's featured exhibit, Pixels & Paper: A Visual Collage of Women's Stories, can be seen. The exhibit which lasts all through March features seven talented female artists in honor of Women's History Month.
