Bloomington Playwrights Project’s Youth Musical Theatre Ensemble performs “13” Friday on the BPP stage. The production was the final performance for the Youth Musical Theatre Ensemble summer camp. “13,” written by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Eric Anderson, tells the story of a Jewish boy, Evan (Cameron Butler) whose family moves to Appleton, Indiana, from New York. The family is in the middle of planning the young boy’s bar mitzvah ceremony to celebrate his coming of age; in a new town he must persuade his new classmates and friends to come to his party.
