Freshman Hauying Wang sat in the corner of a room as other students started to shuffle in, hors d’oeuvres in hand, trying to figure out who to sit next to when everyone was a stranger. Wang, like 1,500 other students this year, is a new international student.

As students continue to move back to Bloomington, the amount of waste for the town is significant compared to the rest of the year. Bloomington, in partnership with the Office of Sustainability at IU, created the Hoosier to Hoosier community sale in order to lessen landfill surplus.

After nearly 60 years of service to the Bloomington community, the small-town Starlite Drive-In movie theater may be closing its doors for good. Located at 7640 South Old State Road 37, the drive-in was considered a dream come true, according to the Freeman family, who acquired the business in 2000.
