Students should stay on victims' side
Unfortunately for those who have been abused and humiliated by Bob Knight over the years, he was not fired soon enough. I believe the president of your institution did the right thing, at an obvious cost to himself. What type of a place would your institution be like if all coaches, teachers, staff and administrators behaved like Knight? Can you imagine Myles Brand, during an assembly or meeting, throwing a chair across the room or physically attacking someone? \nIt does not matter that Knight has an outstanding win-loss record; success in one area does not entitle one to abuse others. Allowing Knight to stay, or letting him return, would be institutional endorsement of premeditated abuse. I do commend your institution for stopping the abuse when it did. \nOne last thought. Don't be intimidated by the unfortunate behavior of Knight's protesters; they are manifesting the anger rooted in Knight. Stay on the side of the victims (I wonder how many there are that we don't know about).
