Greenfeather, a local activist, hugs a tree marked for cutting in part of the Yellowood State Forest. More than 60 trees were marked for cutting with either a yellow "X" or an orange dot. "This is between nature lovers and the DNR," Greenfeather said, "not against the loggers." Mary Demkovic, a former IU student, is currently sitting in a large scarlet oak near this marked tree to prevent the logging of the area.
