If Rooney and Death Cab conceived a love child it would probably sound a lot like The Size of Color. Although the EP is juvenile in some elements, the band has the potential to mature and develop a significant signature sound.

The EP seems to be experimental in nature; the band has not yet fixated on or created an identity for themselves through their music.

The title of the third track, "On and On" is indicative of the length of the tracks. The shortest song is over five minutes long. Sometimes less is more. The lengthy instrumental intros and conclusions could be severely shortened or eliminated entirely.

That being said, "On and On" is clearly the strongest track with the most developed lyrics and effective vocals on the EP. The pared down nature of the instrumentals allows the vocals to come through so clearly that the listener can easily appreciate every lyric of the song. It's the perfect song to listen to on a lazy Sunday afternoon or to put on your "chill out" playlist.

You can check the band for yourself on their Facebook page, here.

If you like what you see, you can catch The Size of Color, Otis and the Rufies, and Ziona Riley at the Trained Eye Arts center 9 p.m. on Saturday.
