Senior forward Tabitha Gerardot led the Hoosier offense with 16 first half points off 7-of-10 shooting.
Gerardot gave IU the lead with a layup as freshman guard Larryn Brooks found Gerardot with a half-court pass.
She hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final minutes of the game, including a 3-pointer with 1:05 remaining to give the Hoosiers a five point lead. Gerardot finished 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
IU finished shooting 43.3% from the field. Michigan shot 40.7%.
Shannon Smith leads Michigan with 11 points.
