IU women's basketball earned votes in The Associated Press' women's college basketball poll for the second consecutive week after defeating Cleveland State 107-73 Saturday in Cleveland.
The Hoosiers (12-0) earned 12 votes towards the Top 25 rankings, an improvement on the four votes they earned in the Dec. 16 poll. Although they are unranked, IU's 12 votes is tied with Texas for the 30th most among teams that earned votes.
IU trails No. 25 Oklahoma State (8-4) by 59 votes for the final ranked position.
Among Big Ten teams, IU is ranked 5th in the poll. The Hoosiers still trail No. 15 Penn State, No.17 Purdue, No. 18 Nebraska and No. 21 Iowa.
IU plays travels to Xavier on Sunday in the season's final non-conference game before Big Ten play begins Jan. 2 in Bloomington against Iowa.
