The No. 12 IU water polo team played only game this past weekend, which was an 8-7 overtime loss to No. 19 Michigan.

A loss to a team seven spots lower combined with no wins naturally suggests the Hoosiers should fall in Wednesday's new rankings. But IU actually has a great chance to stay put at No. 12.

The two teams behind IU, No. 13 CSU Northridge and No. 14 Princeton, both had the weekend off and thus didn't accrue any victories to bolster their respective resumes. Of course, there were no losses to drag them down, either.

UC San Diego and UC Davis are tied at No. 15, and both have struggled recently. The two teams combined to go 0-6 during the weekend. Although every loss was to a ranked team, five of which were top-10, neither 0-4 nor 0-2 should merit a rise in the polls.

IU's new ranking will come down to this question for the voters - Is losing by one goal in overtime to a No. 19 team worse than no wins or losses? I guess we'll find out Wednesday.
