Junior guard Victor Oladipo was named a Sporting News first team All-American Monday afternoon while his teammate, sophomore forward Cody Zeller, is on the third team.

Oladipo is joined on the first team by Michigan's Trey Burke, considered his prime competition for Big Ten player of the year awards. From outside the conference, Georgetown's Otto Porter-- who IU saw in November at the Legends Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.--, Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart and Gonzaga's Kelly Olynyk also made the cut.

In all, four players from the Big Ten made the three teams, with Zeller on the third team and Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas on the second team.

In his junior season, Oladipo has seen his statistic jump virtually across the board. This season, he averaged 13.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. The latter mark led the Big Ten. He also saw a sharp increase in field goal percentage, shooting 61.4 percent from the field.

Zeller average 16.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest to lead the team. He posted a season-high 25 points Sunday in a win at Michigan.
