The No. 11 IU water polo team began the Fluid Four with a bang, defeating Montreal club team Dollard Des Ormeaux 16-5 in an exhibition match.

Two goals by sophomores Shelby Taylor and Rebecca Gerrity in the first minute-and-a-half put IU up quick, and the Hoosiers never looked back. They eventually took a 10-0 lead into halftime before IU Coach Barry King rested some starters for nearly the entire second half and others for all of it.

Freshman Jessica Gaudreault started in goal for IU. She pitched a shutout in the first half while recording six saves. Fellow freshman Mary Campbell then took over at halftime and racked up six saves herself.

Ten different Hoosiers scored in the match. Taylor and Meghan Lappan each scored three goals, Shae Fournier and Amanda Redfern had two each and Summer Creighton, Devon Peterson, Alexis Jones, Gerrity, Candyce Schroeder and Hallie Lindsey all scored once.

IU's next game in the Fluid Four will be tonight at 7:20 against No. 10 Long Beach State.
