The IU field hockey team traveled to Kent State earlier today for the first game of the season. The Hoosiers (1-0) came out victorious winning the contest 5-3. Nicole Volgraf struck first scoring a goal in the early minutes of the game.Gaby Olshemski led the team by scoring two goals, which is a career game high for her. Emily Bowker and Mariella Grote each chipped in with a goal apiece. The Hoosiers will stay in Kent, Ohio and play Vermont in a neutral site game on Sunday August 26th at 2:30 pm.
