A trio of recruits have chosen Indiana as their collegiate destination and are slated to join the Indiana University women's water polo program in 2013, Head Coach Barry King announced Monday.
Goalkeepers Mary Campbell and Jessica Gaudreault will travel to Bloomington from Orlando, Fla., and Nepean, Ontario, respectively, while center Hallie Lindsey of El Segundo, Calif., rounds out the recent commits.
Before Monday, utility Erin Pannek (El Cajon, Calif.) and center Candyce Schroeder (San Clemente, Calif.) had already pledged their futures to the cream and crimson.
Campbell is a unanimous First Team All-District goalkeeper selection who set a team record for saves in a season and saves per game during an exemplary senior campaign at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla.
"Mary has some great physical traits, good length, and a nice initial move," King said in a press release. "She will be involved in the competition to be our full time goalkeeper."
Campbell was also named to the First Team All-West Metro Conference and Second Team All-Central Florida.
In Gaudreault, the Hoosiers receive another goalkeeper recruit with a successful high school career. The Ontario native comes to Bloomington with an impressive resume, having won the Most Valuable Goalie in Ontario and Most Valuable Goalie at the Ottawa Titans Club awards in 2011.
Gaudreault has also made her mark on the international scene, having participated in the 2011 FINA World Championships as a member of the Canadian Junior National Team.
"Jessica is a talented goalkeeper that will definitely give us depth," King said in the press release. "She brings a lot of international experience having played with the Canadian 93 and 94 squads already. We're looking forward to her being involved in the competition to replace Cassie (Wyckoff)."
Lindsey will round out the California contingent of the talented five-player class. She captained her El Segundo High School team, played for the Huntington Beach Water Polo Club and earned Second Team All-CIF selection honors. She was also a CIF finalist at El Segundo in 2012.
"Hallie will give us some nice depth at a position that we were missing depth at and were doing by committee last year," King said in the press release. "She has had great coaching at the club level from Natalie Benson and we are looking forward to seeing her progress through her time here."
