I spoke with Teddy Feinberg of the Las Cruces Sun-News about his insight on the Aggies.
He said the Aggies are playing some very good basketball dating back to the start of February and here are a few highlights about his thoughts on New Mexico State.
On the fact that NMSU isn't your typical mid-major team in terms of size:
"There's no doubt their strength is five feet into the basket. They have a lot of size, a lot of strength and are very physical."
On senior forward Wendell McKines and what he means to the Aggies:
"Wendell's the ultimate competitor. Obviously not having him last year, there was a notable difference. He's always been a great rebounder. He's always had a nose for the ball. What separates him is his competitiveness. He takes the court to prove a point."
On the center combination of Hamidu Rahman (6' 11", 245 lb.) and Tshilidzi Nephawe (6' 10", 268 lb.)
"Rahman is a senior player. I think his performance is very key in the game. In terms of Nephawe he has some skills. He has a nice pair of hands. He has a soft touch."
On the amount of Aggies he fans he expects to make the trip to Portland.
"I expect a decent contingency because let's not forget the University of New Mexico is also playing in Portland that weekend. I expect there just to be some New Mexico natives up there and I think there could be a solid supporting cast of fans."
