The IU women's basketball team has lost its top scorer. Junior guard Jasmine McGhee is out for the rest of the season after suffering a stress-fracture in her foot.
The exact moment the injury took place is unknown, but she was bothered by it the past few games according to IU Coach Felisha Legette-Jack. McGhee didn't play in Sunday's loss to Michigan and was labeled as day-to-day. After further examination, the team has decided to let her sit for the final two regular season games and the Big Ten tournament.
McGhee ends her season leading the team in points and steals with 12.6 and 1.2 respectively. She is second on the team in rebounds, grabbing 5.8 per contest. She started in 23 of the 26 games she played.
This is McGhee's first season with the Hoosiers after transfering from Vincennes University. She was named the WBCA National Junior College Player of the Year last season.
This is IU's second season-ending injury of the year. Senior forward Georgie Jones tore her ACL at Virginia on December 1st, but intends to apply for a redshirt to play again next season.
