For the first time in the Tom Crean era, the Hoosiers got votes in the AP Top 25 poll.

The Hoosiers received four votes in the AP poll and 23 in the coaches' poll following an 84-50 win against Stetson on Sunday afternoon.

A lot of people questioned whether or not IU would be ranked following the 34-point drubbing, but the Hoosiers are still on the outside looking in. IU now boasts an 8-0 record heading into Saturday's massive showdown with No. 1 Kentucky.

What did prompt IU to become ranked was an 86-75 win at NC State on Wednesday, marking the first time the Hoosiers won in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The game was on national TV and likely swayed the minds of some coaches, which explains the jump from three coaches votes to 23.

Many IU fans have debated what they'll need to do against Kentucky to warrant cracking a spot on the AP Top 25. Is it simply upsetting No. 1 Kentucky at Assembly Hall? Or could IU sneak in by losing to the Wildcats by single-digits and giving them a run for their money?

Who knows?

Stay tuned.
