In the opening battle between redshirt freshmen, Zimmer, the likely starter at the weight, defeated Duca. Duca is listed at 133 pounds and appeares to be wrestling down a weight this evening. Tied 1-1 after regulation, Zimmer scored a quick takedown to win.

We've got a pair of true freshmen here. Smith looks a bit smaller. He's listed at 157 pounds while Graves is listed as a 165 pounder. Graves leads 6-3 in the third period.
Both guys look pretty lean. I wouldn't be surprised to see each guy move up a weight during their career.

Graves escape for a 7-5 win.
165 lbs: Preston Keiffer, redshirt freshman WBD 2-1 against Sawyer Morris, redshirt freshman

184 lbs: Lucas Sheridan, true freshman WBD 8-1 against Cheney Dale, redshirt freshman

No score after one period.
Dale escaps, but Sheridan hits him with a headlock that brings to mind Kurt Kinser. He did not get the pin before time ran out in the period, but has a 5-1 lead after two periods.
Sheridan wins 8-1. The sky might be the limit with this guy.
197 lbs: Matt Powless, senior WBMD 16-5 against Garret Goldman, true freshman
Powless is a returning All-American the clear star on this year's squad. He should contend for the title at this weight. Goldman is the son of IU Coach Duane Goldman. He won state as a high school senior at Bloomington North and looks to have the natural size and strength at this weight.
However, Powless is unleashing his speed, leading 6-2 in the second after several takedowns.
