FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla- Midfielder Andy Adlard, midfielder Rich Balchan, and forward Will Bruin all began their journey to the Major League Soccer.

The player combine started on January 7 with physicals and player arrivals.

Over 70 soccer players made their journey to Fort Lauderdale, Fla, to play in the combine amongst the nation

From the second day Jan. 8 to Jan 11, these players will compete in three soccer matches.

Adlard and Bruin are on the AdiZero team and Balchan is on the AdiPower team.

  • Balchan on first match experience- "Today was just the first game, so we were trying to get acclimated with each other," he said. "As the game progressed we got a little more comfortable with each other".
  • Bruin on how IU Men's Soccer prepared him for the Combine- "Everyday in training is where they prepared us," he said. "Every training is intense and you go 100 percent".
  • "It's definitely an experience playing with the top players in the country," Balchan said.

  • Ives Galarcep on the three Hoosiers- "Bruin is definitely a top-10 pick in the draft," "Didn't see too much from Balchan and Adlard, but they could pick it up in the next few days".

Galarcep's website "Soccer by Ives" has a mock draft that says Bruin will go third (1st round) to DC United and Rich Balchan will go 28th (2nd round) to the Columbus Crew. The mock draft only posts two of the four rounds, in which Adlard wasn't a part of it.
