Steve Alford vs. IU won't be happening this year.
Instead, the Hoosiers will face Colorado in the consolation game of the Las Vegas Classic. Alford's New Mexico team defeated Colorado 89-76.
The Buffaloes never led and struggled from the 3-point line (5-for-22) on Wednesday night.
IU has not played Colorado since 1997 and has not played a Big 12 opponent since a loss to Missouri in December 2004.
The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
