You know it's almost fall when basketball stories are popping up in the IDS.

That's why I'm here with this shameless self-promotion giving you the IU recruiting information up to 2012 (with a sprinkle of 2014) in a nut shell.

In researching and compiling all the information, it was evident just how special the 2012 class could be for IU. Already with Peter Jurkin and Ron Patterson, the Hoosiers could make some significant headway in their rebuilding process if they can land a big time forward (Hanner Perea) and/or another high-ranking guard (Yogi Ferrell, Gary Harris, etc.).

The Hoosiers' dream scenario, of course, is to have a future front court of Cody Zeller and Perea starting in the post and Jurkin coming in off the bench (or starting in the middle, if Tom Crean were to change from a three-guard lineup).

In Crean's system, it might be best to land just one of the premier post players and go hard after a couple talented guards. He doesn't usually feature his big men, but rather a sort of drive-and-kick philosophy to create open shots or points at the rim.

But you won't see anyone complaining if they end up with too many good players in the paint. They are a rare commodity, and if you end up with an allotment of them, you tailor your system to make it work.
