Je'Ney Jackson, a former secondary coach for the Southern Mississippi football squad will now be the new strength and conditioning coach for the IU basketball team, according to peegs.com. Jackson will be replacing the position once held by Jeff Watkinson, who left in June to work with Eric Gordon full time.

Jackson worked with the Southern Miss football team for one year, but prior to that he spent 5 years in the Kansas football program, 3 as a cornerbacks coach and two as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Jackson also was the strength and conditioning coach at Wyoming for 6 years, the same place he played college ball. Jackson played corner for Wyoming from 1994-97, and was named first team All-WAC his senior year, and still holds a Wyoming record with his 98-yard interception return against UTEP.
