Saturday night's 1-1 tie between the U.S.A. and England in the World Cup was the number one most watched first round game in America in history.

The game drew a 7.3 household rating (8,391,000 households and 12,956,000 viewers)

The overall three hour telecast (Including one hour of pre-game coverage and the two hour match itself) drew a 6.1 rating and ranks fifth all-time behind three World Cup Final matches including the 2006 Final between Italy and France (7.0 rating).

Saturday's game was also the most watched U.S.A. match since 1994.

Italy-France, WC Final (ABC, 7/9/06) - 12.0 (7.0 rating)
