If IU basketball coach Tom Crean wants Kellen Dunham, he better make a move and soon.
The Pendleton Heights junior-to-be picked up an offer from Butler University Tuesday afternoon. Dunham also has an offer from Wright State and Ball State.
The 6-4, 165 pound guard averaged 17.2 points per game for the Arabians last year and has made major strides offensively. Dunham is no longer just a pure shooter, he has several good moves to the basket and his quickness is improving.
He is an average defender at best, however, and must make improvements in that department if he hopes to get major minutes at the collegiate level.
Crean attended a Pendleton Heights practice last winter and Tim Buckley has been recruiting Dunham for the Hoosiers over the last year. Dunham currently has drawn interest from Ball State, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Toledo, Wisconsin and Stanford.
Dunham and the Arabians played in a summer tournament at Butler University two weeks ago and coach Brad Stevens was in attendance. Apparently he liked what he saw.
"Yeah, he called and said he had a scholarship for me and sat my family down and told them too," Dunham said.
Dunham is not currently ranked in the Class of 2012, but his stock is quickly rising.
