Much has been said about how fast the new Billy Hayes Track would be, but Friday's performance truly proved it.
Molly Beckwith set a new track record in the 800m with a time of 2:02.18. Beckwith's time is the third best by an American in this year's outdoor season and is the second best on the Division I list. She now has the second fastest time in school history. Lindsay Hartman came in second with a time of 2:06.40.
Faith Sherrill also set an IU record in the hammer throw, with a throw of 58.46m. Her performance is the best in the Big Ten this year, and 13th in the east region.
The Hoosiers also earned 7 event wins.
