An article I wrote on senior pole vaulter Jeff Coover was published in the IDS today. Jeff is one of a handful of talented seniors who will leave IU this year (Mollye Beckwith, Coover, Sarah Pease are a few names which initially come to mind). Although it would be unfair to place lofty expectations on these student athletes at this point in their careers, I can't help but think of the enormous potential they have. IU track star David Neville competed in the 2008 Olympics, and I think having one of the current members of IU T&F qualify in the Olympic trials is a feasible reality. So as Coover and his fellow Hoosiers graduate IU, we should not keep them far from our sight, they could be doing BIG things in the near future.
