Former IU Athletics Director Rick Greenspan, notoriously known as the man who failed to monitor Kelvin Sampson, has been hired as the new athletics director at Rice University.
He replaces Chris Del Conte, who left Rice in October to become the athletics director at Texas Christian University.
Greenspan worked at IU from 2004-08, hiring current IU coach Tom Crean before Fred Glass took the job.
