The IU men's golf team had the weekend off from team competition, but freshmen John Beringer, Michael McGee and Corey Ziedonis played as individuals in the BSU Cardinal Collegiate in Jasper, Ind.
Beringer, who hasn't played in a tournament during his freshman campaign, led the way with rounds of 73, 74 and 73 for a fourth place finish.
Next up was Ziedonis in 19th place, who opened up with a pair of 76's before closing with a 73 in the final round.
In 47th place individually was McGee, shooting rounds of 77, 78 and 79.
All three players should remain in contention for the four and five spots in the lineup as we move towards the stretch run of the season.
The Hoosiers will hit the links again this weekend at the adidas Hoosier Invitational, played at the IU Golf Course. All 12 players on the roster will play in the tournament, with IU fielding two teams along with two individuals.
