The Wheeler (Wheeler, Ind.) Bearcats completed the morning session here at Conseco with a 41-38 win over Park Tudor (Indianapolis). 2012 prospect (also the 2005 top fifth grader) Kevin Ferrell finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Ferrell, who has already been offered by IU, Illinois, Purdue and Butler, has been rumored to have the Notre Dame at the top of his list thus far. Scout.com reported the Irish have been hot after him.
Near the end of the game, Matt Painter and Bruce Weber both headed into the stands to chat with Bowman Academy's head coach and DeJuan Marrero. No sign of any IU personnel yet.
The evening session will begin at 6 p.m. as Washington (Washington, Ind.) takes on Gary Wallace (Gary, Ind.). The matchup is highlighted by 2011 blue-chippers Cody Zeller of Washington and 6'6'' swingman Branden Dawson of Wallace.
