Freshman third baseman Micah Johnson continued his torrid hot streak by blasting a solo shot in the ninth inning to tie up the game against Bradley (4-7) before Michael Basil delivered the go-ahead and eventual game-winning single in the 10th inning as Indiana (6-9) won on Tuesday 6-5.
Junior first baseman Jerrud Sabourin delivered his 200th hit in his career and Alex Dickerson went 2-5 and scored the winning run.
Mike McKinley got the start for the Hoosiers, but he was knocked out after two innings, giving up five runs. Ethan Wilson pitched brilliantly out of the pen, firing five shutout innings, allowing only one hit and two walks.
Chris Squires picks up the win (1-1). Things looked bleak for the Hoosiers in the bottom of the ninth, when Squires loaded the bases with one out. But the ground ball machine got Bradley DH Phil Kaiser to ground into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.
Things did not come easier for Squires after the Johnson blast. He allowed another one-out single and hit a batter before getting a ground ball out that put the tying and winning runs in scoring position. Squires then struck out the final batter swinging for the fourth time this year that he's ended the game on a strikeout.
Indiana has Wednesday off, but will return to action Thursday against Eastern Illinois (3-11) at 3 p.m. in Auburndale, Fla.
