So people always say basketball is a game of spurts. The adage proved true in IU's game against Illinois.
The game was very much a back-and-forth contest, with each team taking control at different portions of the contest.
Here are some bullets of the runs from Saturday:
- Illinois began the game with a 9-4 run.
- IU countered with the Jordan Hulls led 8-4 scoring.
- The Illini answered with a run of 11-0 from 17-15 to 28-15.
- From 28-15 to 36-36, IU went on a 21-8 run, culminated with a half-court 3-pointer from senior guard Devan Dumes.
- The game was tight until IU gained a six-point lead at 55-49. From there, Illinois went off on a 17-9 that would take the game's lead at 66-64.
I'm pretty sure you all know what happened from there. No one has forgotten about McCamey and his high-arching shot just yet.
