The No. 18 Hoosiers (14-6, 4-2) lost to No. 8 Michigan State 3-2 in the Big Ten Championship game on Sunday.

The Spartans end Indiana's seven game win streak.

IU got off to an early lead with a goal from senior forward Haley Funk in the 14th minute off a penalty stroke.

Less than 11 minutes later, MSU responded with a goal from midfielder Jeamie Deacon off a penalty corner.

In the 33rd minute, the Spartans scored from a goal by midfielder Floor Rijpma off an assist by back Angie Lucik.

24 seconds later, Michigan State scored again off Deacon's hard shot to the back of the net.

After the Hoosiers took a timeout in the second half, they scored off a goal from freshman forward Morgan Fleetwood by an assist from junior midfielder Kelsey Kiper.

IU wasn't able to score in the last 18 minutes because of some impressive saves from goalkeeper Elissa Unger.

The Hoosiers will find out Tuesday if they earned a spot in the 16-team NCAA tournament.
