The No. 3 seed Hoosiers beat the No. 6 seed Northwestern Wildcats 4-2 in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.
IU scored first from a goal by freshman forward Morgan Fleetwood at the 11th minute.
Hoosiers scored again 12 minutes later by a goal from freshman forward Brooke Borneman.
Before halftime begun, midfielder Stephanie Fortson scored at the 29th minute.
At the 46:40 mark, Fleetwood scored her 13th goal of the season with an assist from junior midfielder Kelsey Kiper.
The Hoosiers scored again from sophomore back Brenna Moeljadi at the 53rd minute.
The Wildcats scored a goal off a rebound by back Kaylee Pohlmeyer.
IU will play No. 7 seed Penn State tomorrow at 2 p.m.
