Defensive end Jammie Kirlew is having a great year on the field this season, but his off-the-field accomplishments continue to rack up as well.
Kirlew will already be recognized at this year's Sugar Bowl for his character, and now he is closer to another similar award.
This from the IU athletics department:
Indiana senior defensive end Jammie Kirlew has been named one of 54 Football Bowl Subdivision semifinalists for the 2009 William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today. The NFF recognized 154 semifinalists across all divisions. The Campbell Trophy (formerly known as the Draddy Trophy), endowed by HealthSouth, is awarded based on academics, athletic ability and character aspects."
