The IU volleyball team returns to action at No. 12 Illinois at 8 p.m. today.
A few noteworthy facts concerning the Hoosiers (13-5, 2-2) and the Fighting Illini (11-3, 3-2):
- Illinois leads the all-time series 51-16-1 with a 19-7 advantage at home.
- The Illini won both meetings between the schools in 2008, taking the Sept. 26 match in Bloomington 18-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-22 and sweeping the Nov. 15 contest in Champaign-Urbana 25-19, 25-19, 25-19.
- IU and Illinois rank third and fourth, respectively, in the Big Ten in blocks per match. Only .01 point separates the teams' averages with the Hoosiers' 2.60 and the Illini's 2.59.
- Illinois junior outside hitter Laura DeBruler leads the Big Ten in points with a 5.08 average on the season. IU junior middle blocker Ashley Benson and freshman outside hitter Jordan Haverly ranked sixth and ninth, respectively, with 4.34 and 4.12 averages.
The Hoosiers' next battle takes place at 6 p.m. Sunday at Northwestern.
