Wake up Fantasy Nation,
Your match is about to start and you can't decide which running-back to start? Worried your wrong decision will cost you another game? Relax, because your free subscription to The Fantasy Sage will cater to your every worry. With me, your lineup will look almost as good as you do!
Start 'Em:
Quarterbacks:
Aaron Rodgers (Packers) vs. Bengals - 2095 passing yards (261.8 YPG), 15 touchdown passes, 4 interceptions at home last season. The Bengals haven't exactly won the defensive lottery, and shouldn't anytime soon.
Kurt Warner (Cardinals) vs. Jaguars - The Jags rank 27th in total pass defense, and Peyton isn't the only Man(ning) who can torch 'em.
Jason Campbell (Redskins) vs. Rams - If they play the Rams, start 'em.
Running Backs:
Clinton Portis (Redskins) vs. Rams - See Jason Campbell.
Fred Jackson (Bills) vs. Buccaneers - 140 scrimmage yards, TD in Week 1; Bucs rank 24th vs. the run; don't be an idiot.
Tim Hightower (Cardinals) vs. Jaguars - 136 total yards, 12 receptions, and a fantastic smile. If you run a points-per-reception league, he's fantasy gold!
Wide Receivers:
Santonio Holmes (Steelers) vs. Bears - If he did that well against the Titans, he doesn't have to prove anything to you.
Vincent Jackson (Chargers) vs. Ravens - He's tall enough to grab the ball at its apex, and the Ravens won't be able to stop both the pass and the run. I say the pass falters first.
Tight Ends:
Vishante Shiancoe (Vikings) vs. Lions - Trust me, I have a good feeling about this one.
Sit 'Em:
Quarterbacks:
Jay Cutler (Bears) vs. Steelers - 4 interceptions? Really? Forget him!
Carson Palmer (Bengals) vs. Packers - If the Pack did that to Jay, Carson doesn't have a chance at that powerball!
Running Backs:
Steve Slaton (Texans) vs. Titans - The titans crushed the Steelers' run game last week, and Slaton isn't good enough to make me think he can do any better. Save yourself some tears; you'll need them for the overwhelming joy you'll get when you win.
Larry Johnson (Chiefs) vs. Raiders - People generally don't notice this old geezer's red flags, but they are there. Don't touch him without heavy gloves!
Wide Receivers:
Hines Ward (Steelers) vs. Bears - Don't ask me why, but I think he's going to injure himself one of these days, and you can do better.
TJ Houshmandzadeh (Seahawks) vs. 49ers - He hasn't proved anything yet; don't trust him until he does!
Now ask yourself, is that sinking pit in your stomach gone? My how quickly nerves can fade when you get a steady dose of confidence. Now you can wake up tomorrow and look forward to your match, knowing that you are king and they are your minions of doom! (Even if it is just a fantasy)
Bless you, but I wouldn't use the word "Savior",
Robb Jacobson
