As the IU football team prepares for their season opening matchup with Easter Kentucky on Thursday, head coach Bill Lynch has announced on his radio show the four team captains for Week 1: QB Ben Chappell, OT Rodger Saffold, DE Jammie Kirlew, and LB Will Paterson.
Lynch said he and his team will select new game captains each week this season, and at the end of the year, the players will vote for who should be named honorary captain for the 2009 season.
